Keep your canine companion protected with a vaccination plan.
Vaccines help prepare a puppy’s immune system to defend itself from any invasion of disease-causing organisms. The purpose of vaccines is to mildly stimulate the immune system by having it recognize the antigens. That way, if the puppy becomes exposed to the real disease, its immune system will recognize it and preparing the puppy to fight it off or at least reduce its effects. If a puppy’s mother has a healthy immune system, it will most likely receive antibodies in the mother’s milk while nursing. After the puppy has been weaned off of the mother’s milk, vaccinations should begin.
Vaccinations have been medically proven to combat many preventable diseases and illnesses that can occur without proper immunizations.
Puppy vaccines begin around 8 weeks of age. That vaccine is boosted again at 12 weeks of age and again at 16 weeks of age. One of our veterinarians will implement a complete vaccination schedule for your puppy to help them stay current.
Keeping your puppy safe and comfortable in a new environment is very important. When bringing your puppy into the hospital, we recommend keeping them on a leash or in a carrier. You can also bring a comforting pet blanket or toy to help keep your puppy happy and entertained during the visit.
